Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to resolve them. Most problems surface through the Preview/Validate Gate, which will show you what is wrong and suggest next steps.

Blocked by Gate

The Gate shows execution is blocked and I cannot proceed

When execution is blocked, it is hard-blocked with no override. The Gate will also show a reason and suggested fix steps. Common causes include: insufficient license seat, unresolved dependencies, or unacknowledged data disclosure. Follow the suggested steps to resolve the issue, then re-run the Gate.

License and Activation

Insufficient seat for the operation

Each operation requires a minimum seat type. Run requires Runner, export requires Creator, and publish requires Creator on a Team or Enterprise tier. Check your current seat type and upgrade if needed. Validate is always available regardless of seat. See Licensing for the full seat matrix.

Expired offline token

Your activation token is valid for 7 days offline. If it has expired, connect to the network and attempt the operation again — CRAFT will try to refresh automatically (surfaced through egress disclosure). If refresh fails, check your account status or contact support.

Token shows "Revoked" status

A revoked token cannot be refreshed. This typically means the seat was explicitly revoked by an administrator. Contact your organization's admin or support to resolve.

Activation fails on a new machine

Activation tokens are machine-bound. If you are moving to a new machine, deactivate on the old machine first, then activate on the new one. If the old machine is unavailable, contact support for assistance.

Host and Runtime

Unsupported host or host version

CRAFT currently supports Autodesk Revit 2024+ and Civil 3D 2024+. If you are running an older version, you will need to update your host application. See the Compatibility page for the full list of supported hosts and versions.

CRAFT add-in does not appear in the host

Make sure you closed the CAD host before running the installer. If the host was open during installation, close it and reopen. If CRAFT still does not appear, verify that the host version is supported and check for any add-in loading errors in the host's add-in manager.

.NET runtime not found

CRAFT requires .NET 8.0 or later. Check your installed .NET version and install or update if necessary. The Installation page has details on system requirements.

Verification and Import

Failed signature verification on import

If an automation package fails signature verification, the import is blocked. This means the package has been modified since it was signed, or it was signed by an unknown key. Verify that you received the package from a trusted source and that it was not modified in transit. If the issue persists, ask the publisher to re-export or re-publish.

Import fails with package integrity error

The zip archive may be corrupted or incomplete. Re-download or re-transfer the package. CRAFT verifies content hashes against the manifest — any mismatch triggers this error.

Stale Lockfile

Gate reports outdated dependencies

Outdated dependencies mean the pinned dependency versions no longer match the current catalog, which blocks execution. To resolve, re-validate the automation — this will refresh the dependencies. Then review the Gate output and proceed.

Still Stuck?

If the Gate's suggested fix steps don't resolve your issue, or you encounter a situation not covered here, contact support.
