Activation

CRAFT uses machine-bound license activation. Once activated, your license works offline for up to 7 days before needing to refresh.

How Activation Works

When you activate CRAFT, the system binds your license token to your specific machine. This means your license works on the device where you activated it.

  1. Open CRAFT inside your CAD host
  2. Enter your license credentials when prompted
  3. CRAFT contacts the license server to issue a signed activation token
  4. The token is stored locally on your machine
Network call disclosure. Activation requires a one-time network call to the license server. This call — and any subsequent refresh — is surfaced through the Gate's egress disclosure panel. CRAFT does not make silent network calls.

Offline Operation

After activation, CRAFT operates fully offline. Your activation token is valid for 7 days without needing to contact the license server. During this window, all operations permitted by your seat type work without network access.

Token Refresh

Your activation token must refresh at least once every 7 days. When a refresh is needed, CRAFT will surface it through the Gate's egress disclosure before making any network call. If the token expires without refreshing, the Gate will block seat-required operations until you reconnect and refresh.

Token States

Active
All operations permitted by your seat type
Grace (Export Only)
Export and validate only — applies during Team/Enterprise cancellation grace period
Expired
Validate with warning only; all other operations blocked until refresh succeeds
Revoked
Validate with warning only; all other operations blocked; contact support
Not Present
No activation found; activate to begin using CRAFT
Expired tokens block execution. If your token expires, the Gate will hard-block run, export, import, and publish operations. Validate remains available so you can still inspect your automations. Reconnect to the network to refresh your token.

Machine-Bound Tokens

Activation tokens are cryptographically bound to your machine. They cannot be transferred to another device. If you need to move your license to a different machine, deactivate on the current machine first, then activate on the new one.

Validate Is Always Available

The validate operation does not require a paid seat. Any authenticated user can validate an automation at any time — even with an expired or missing token. Validate is read-only: it runs the Gate inspection but never executes the automation. See Preview, Validate & Gate for details.
